Security Council

The Security Council serves as the protocol's defensive layer, protecting against governance attacks while respecting community sovereignty. Composed of ten members with proven expertise in DeFi security, smart contract auditing, and risk management, the Council provides professional oversight without controlling the protocol. Council members are elected by BOUND holders for two-year terms, with the ability to recall members who fail to fulfill their duties.

This ensures the Council remains accountable to the community it protects. The Council's powers are deliberately limited and reactive. They can veto malicious proposals, pause protocol functions during active attacks, and review governance decisions for security implications. They cannot spend treasury funds, propose upgrades directly, or override legitimate community decisions on non-technical matters.

All Council actions occur on-chain with full transparency, maintaining the protocol's commitment to verifiable governance while providing essential security safeguards against both malicious actors and unintentional errors.
